Hawley took part in the District bag pack for their clean water project in for Uganda.

Waitrose in Yateley were kind enough to offer their supermarket as the venue and their customers were very generous and donated £750 towards this year's project.

  About Us
union flagsaint george

Hawley Scout Group form the sixth unit of the Bramshill District which is situated in north Hampshire. We wear a blue necker edged with gold like this . . .

and just why does Captain Archer of the Starship Enterprise wear a uniform made from our necker?

At Hawley we have a Beaver Colony, a Cub Pack and a Scout Troop. These meet on different nights of the week during a one to two hour time slot, depending on the age of the young people.

  Creativity
A popular image of Scouts is the rugged outdoor young person swinging across rivers or climbing mountains. The Scout programme also offers opportunities for creative and cultural activities such as playing in bands and orchestras or performing in shows. A number of today's top performers started their career in a Scout Gang Show.

"We're men, we're men in tights . . .  . " You'll know what that means if you came with us to the Basingstoke Gangshow in 2006!  And if you do know try this LINK

In 2007 we went to the Surrey Heath Scouts & Guides Gang Show at Camberley Theatre.  Best routine "Flash, Bang, Wallop" and best sketch the "Japanese Drag-Act."

How about a clip from our own 1998 Hawley Gangshow.  This was the Ventures offering the Russian Ballet

  International Activities

A part of the Scout training programme is aimed at helping young people become aware of the different cultures that make up the exciting diversity of our society. By examining the way of life in other countries we help them understand the difficulties and problems they endure and how it can influence our lives and perspectives in the United Kingdom.

At Hawley we run a yearly Fairtrade project. The theme for this year is Change Today, Choose Fairtrade. With over 2000 Fairtrade certified products now available, it’s easier than ever to change what you eat drink and wear to Fairtrade, and make a positive change today for the lives of millions and farmers in developing countries.

Fairtrade Fortnight runs from February 25th to March 9th.

   Information

buy Fairtrade certified cotton -

The Chief Scout has written to Hawley Scouts congratulating us on our suggestion that Scout scarves should be made from Fair Traded Cotton.

Direct action by members of the Scout movement can mitigate poverty in the Third World!  Sounds a bit militant?  Hawley Scouts dealt with the issue of no Fairtrade Cotton neckers being available by making our own!! The first necker had its first outing at our District St. George's Day Parade.
