We managed to get our Pocket Knife, Hand Axe and Bow Saw training out of the way before it started raining. The heavy downpours couldn't dampen our spirits or the fire although it did take us two hours to get it really going. Having said that we did use just the ONE match! We had to reschedule cooking the chicken we prepared for supper rather than lunch but once again the camp oven proved its worth.

In the afternoon we trained everyone up on Tilley Lamps and Gas Cookers and got to use our newly sharpened knives on some rope and knot work.
We finished off the day learning how to pack a rucsac for camp or a day hike.

More later

Supper was followed by a campfire sing-song and a few games of CHEAT. We had a sleepover at the hut and after breakfast on Sunday morning the parents arrived to take everyone home for a hot shower and some TLC!

Thanks to Mike, George, Ian and Michael for giving up their Saturday.
